Well, we finally left Sudbury after an anxious 2 week wait for our travel insurance to kick-in. We packed, unpacked and re-packed in hope of getting it right this time. Last time we had too much stuff.
This time we left the canoe and associated equipment behind and that was a good sized pile. The trailer is probably just as packed with Velma making sure she won't miss something she needs to cook with. The truck is lighter except for a 45 gallon plastic drum I installed to carry extra water for desert boondocking.
We're planning to head south through Branson, Missouri, Hot Springs, AK, down through Texarkana, Tx and spend a month with St Catharines friends, Jerry and Lisa Heafey in Donna, TX. Then we head west through Laredo, TX, onto I-10 then up Hwy 70 through to Apache Jct. on our way to Quartzite. We then head to southern AZ and visit renewed old friends, Rick & Lil from Timmins, in Yuma, then we hope to catch up with our friends from Montreal, Pierre and Judy, who we met many times on our North American tour, somewhere in the desert... and later... we migrate back north.
Oh, and one more change from the last WEB site... It's my turn to do it. Big shoes to fill. Velma will a contributing photographer.  Another change on this trip is "Instant Messaging". Wow, to be able to contact family the instant the computer is connected to the Internet, is another great way to keep in touch, though it does seem to take away a bit from the adventure.   ....Click on a segment to see the highlights.
