On this travel site you will find our North American travel experiences starting with our year long 2005 trip around North America dubbed "The Red Canoe" and our subsequent "Winter 2007-08 Trip" through Texas then west over to the Southwest USA and back home.

Since our relocation to Northeastern Ontario in 2006 we will also add some wilderness fishing & camping trips we are making throughout Northeastern Ontario. Most are Northern Ontario Wilderness trips north and west of Sudbury, some of the French River region, as well as to Monitoulin Island, Georgian Bay area... three distinct and awesome travel points of Ontario.

The Red Canoe In the Fall of 2005, Velma and I departed for a yearlong trip around North America, by truck, RV, and a red canoe! We had help planning our trip from WEB sites similar to this one. For that reason, Velma designed the "Red Canoe" WEB site along the way, in hopes that you will find it helpful, plus it kept family and friends in touch and "along for the ride". If you're considering such a trip, Don't quit! It's a trip you'll never forget.	Winter 2007-08 Trip A year later, we trailered the south and southwest USA, one more time in the "Winter 2007-08 Trip". We find the southern States fascinating and we love the southwest desert. We traveled mostly new destinations including a month or so on the Padre Islands of the Gulf of Mexico and the Rio Grande Vale area of Southern Texas.
