June 23, 2007. Yesterday we became members of the "Domaine des Pionniers" and bought an older trailer with rooms added on. This is a club, now a co-operative, and you have to be 48 years of age or older and one of the couple has to be French speaking to own a camp here. They hold all kinds of activities during the summer. We have already attended a dinner with of all kinds of home made foods and then they had a local band for a dance later in the evening. There is a "First of July" celebration and a "Fish Derby" coming up. We can invite family and friends to come for visit's and festivities, children must be supervised and no pets are allowed, sorry family and friends with pets.. The residents are great. They have gazebos with swings conveniently located throughout the park, there is a games hall with pool table, shuffle board, etc., a large hall for parties, dances and dinners, laundry facilities and the yearly fee is $400.00 which also includes hydro and water! We are looking forward to spending time there after Denis has finished his renovations. The lake has access to other lake's and there are dozens of other lakes nearby. We hear there is a lot of Bass fish in these lakes, we have not fished for bass before so we will have to get Leo up for a visit to show us how to catch Bass fish. We can also invite our friends who have RVs as the grounds have 10 parking spots at $10 per night, water and hydro included, how convient. |

This
is the kitchen and dining area. It was in move in condition. We could not have asked for more and think we will be happy here during the summer. |
Then there is the dreaded outhouse. We hear that some of the residence have really jazzed theirs up. We will have to check them out. Ours is just a plain old outhouse but it's clean and there is a sink in it with running water. Of course if you do not want to use the outhouse there is a public washroom and showers for the men and women. |
|
We have been exploring our camp area and Denis loves to go where no man has
gone before.
There is so many lakes that we can travel with the canoe. There is beautiful scenery everywhere and of course traces of human existence. Denis is disgusted with how people litter and pick's/cleans up whenever he can. |
|
He was so excited with the beautiful bass he caught. On the left where the arrow is pointing, is our camp. The reason I call it a camp is you have to be prepared to us a outhouse. |

Denis relaxing in the gazebo after a hard day of fishing which he always says is better then a bad day at work. |
Aug. 11, 2008. We have spent part of May and all of July at the Domain. During this time we have done some renovations and feel quite comfortable there now and have gotten to know our neighbours better. Below is a collage I made of our 4th. of July celebrations. They are a great bunch of people from the area and we are looking forward to getting to know them better next year. |
